Matchmefy - an Android app to match your friends and random people

Not sure if this is the right spot to post this but here's an app to create a playlist based on your friend's tastes.

If you are a Spotify fan and you own an Android device, I just released a small Android app called Matchmefy:

The main idea of the app is to see how compatible you are with your friends or random people based on the artists, tracks, and genres you listen to in Spotify. You can also create Spotify playlists from your matches to discover new music!

Even though I've been part of the development of multiple apps, this is my first independent app. The app is free with no ads, it was purely made for fun and as an exercise to keep me busy during the COVID lockdown. It gave me a lot of insight into design, infrastructure, marketing for google play, and getting the app ready for release.

Dear Lucian,

Have you ever considered creating an app that connects you to strangers that share your music taste? It seems this had been suggested before to the Spotify creators but nothing has been done. I feel that with enough advertising, an app like this could REALLY take off, and you could definitely profit off of it. I would surely be the first user!

Great idea! I was suggested the app Cosmoverse a few times but that only works if you already have friends(' emails). As i've no social media, it is not an app i can find very useful. I'd much rather try a human's niche taste in tunes than have an algorithm find what's popular for me. If an algorithm can assist in the former, that would be ideal i guess.
