Please combine audio & video streams for Top Songs and Wrapped

Dear Spotify team,

As someone who listens to over 200,000 minutes a year, I use Spotify not just for entertainment – but to archive my life in music.

One issue really frustrates me: video versions of songs (like “Bad Romance” or “Kopfüber durch die Nacht”) are counted separately from the audio versions, even if the title and artist are identical.

That means I can listen to a song all year – as a video – and it still won’t show up in my Wrapped or Top Songs. This feels unfair and disconnected from how real people experience music.

I’m not asking for magic – just for consistency:
If the audio and video have the same artist and title, they should be counted together. Same music, same user, same passion – same stats.

Please consider merging stream data for audio and video versions of the same song. It would make Wrapped more accurate and make users like me feel truly heard.

Thanks for all the music – now let the stats reflect it.

Kind regards,

Lukas

By the way – many official chart systems like the German "Offizielle Deutsche Charts" already solve this issue:

They group together different versions of a song – including video, instrumental, remix, radio edit, and extended versions – as long as they match in artist, title, and audio structure.

Their system uses ISRC codes, fingerprinting, and editorial oversight to ensure that what counts as "the same song" truly reflects what people experience emotionally – not just what’s technically stored as a different file.

Spotify could absolutely adopt a similar system for Wrapped and Top Songs.

It would make the stats fairer and much more accurate – especially for listeners who experience music deeply and across formats.

Please consider this as a serious improvement idea.
