Although I’m a fan of many of the artists opposing Rogan’s podcast, they should not get to decide what the world can see, hear or read. I can do without them if needed. I find it ironic that many of them used their music to fight against the status quo when they were young and at the peak of popularity, and now they want to shut down any dissenting voices. It is important that there is freedom of speech in this world, and that doctors, scientists and other experts are allowed to express their concerns. Silencing our experts is a recipe for disaster.
In that scenario, whoever has the most money wins.
Keep Joe, and I sign up with premium. Funny part is I don't even listen much to the show, but I like to know I can if I want to. That's as simple as it gets.
Rock on Free World.

STFU and make your money **bleep**
I agree.
what’s funny though is that Neil’s tantrum included him drawing a “him or me” line in the sand with Spotify re Rogan based on (2) censored doctor/scientist interviews, so he’s “going to Apple” where “misinformation isn’t allowed” but apparently Neil did not realize that one of those doctor/scientists has a long standing 2x per week podcast on (wait for it), APPLE.
4 days later, trying to walk it all back, Neil wrote a big long letter essentially saying “what I REALLY mean is Audio Quality! THAT is why I’m boycotting Spotify.” Followed by 2 detailed paragraphs of complete misinformation about digital audio, stuff that’s not even possible. So much for misinformation.
signed off in bold: “oh yeah and BTW I’m totally against censorship.” Why mention censorship in a letter about audio quality?
Neil Young owes the international community an apology for stirring sh** up needlessly at a time when the country is already divided by hate. And triggering the addition of these new and annoying blue “Covid” bars that appear when scrolling on Spotify. And this is the guy who wrote “Ohio” “immediately when I heard about Kent State because we must fight to preserve our right to speak out and protest.”
Phhht. OK Neil. The weirdest thing I’ve ever seen.
Totally checking your stats I had no idea but now that I realize just how important your stats and opinion are my life is changed.
I think the situation may be more nuanced than what you characterize, but maybe not. My understanding is the expunged episodes were of ppl who are actively part of white nationalist hate groups. While in a perfect world I’d broadstroke promote “no censorship.” However given the unstable, reactive and vulnerable state of things due to decades of hate and fear mongering, I too would support the banning of all extremist groups from both sides who have a history of actuating and promoting hate, violence and domestic terrorism. Sad that it’s come to this but here we are and it’s a fine line. Enforcing blanket ideological censorship only pours gas on that same fire. Hopefully Spotify has hit on a reasonable middle ground for now. Certainly better than the big social media platforms, imo.
Paying someone 200 million+ to be the exclusive voice of Spotify is actually the OPPOSITE of "censorship".
It's called not elevating the worst humans to the top (corporations have that option. Daniel decided to do the opposite and now there are consequences for promoting such a horrible human)
THIS:**bleep** **bleep** damn ass **bleep**
is censorship.

I couldn’t have said it any better myself!
The only way people can learn and think for themselves is open discourse, as Rogan has said before so many times before. No matter their opinions or political views, these people Joe has on the podcast are always competent in their chosen fields, if not experts. Those who might not be competent, sometimes say things that could be considered wrong or that seem misinformed. This should not mean that the things they have said are not valuable and it certainly shouldn’t mean that anyone is trying to spread misinformation, we are all human beings and all of us are capable of making mistakes.
The amount of information the people on this podcast have to give the world, should not be overshadowed by their opinions. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion. Even if it is not based in fact.
The only way that someone’s opinion can change is if they have access to all of the available information, they are exposed to people with different opinions, and have the opportunity to discuss it with their peers.
The alternative is horrifying to think about. If we allow our human rights to be diminished and by other humans no less. What follows will surely be a sorry set of affairs.
It's gotten even worse. Artist "Conspiracy Music Guru" just got "I told you so," a favorite on my playlist TAKEN DOWN. It makes me STRONGLY want to seek out an alternative listening strategy when I can't even feel in control of my own "liked songs" playlist. Nothing is more disturbing here than having music stolen from my list as a listener. And it's also a great insult to all artists that remain on the platform with the knowledge that the book burn types running this platform can turn OUR music and choices to ash less any warning.
