Question of the Week: What's your everyday superpower?

Hey Community!

For this week's Question of the Week, let's get to know each other a bit better! So, without further ado...

*** What's your everyday superpower? ***

Some people are exceptionally skilled at taking care of plants; others at folding fitted sheets; others at cooking. What's your everyday superpower?

Ohh, this is a tough one! I honestly can't think of anything 🙈 Maybe waking up on time?  The hardest part of waking up is always debating whether I should go back to sleep, or brave the coziness, wake up and just start my day.

There are some good tracks and playlists about waking up, but the first one that popped up for me is this catchy tune:

spotify:track:67iAlVNDDdddxqSD2EZhFs

The melody always cheers me up, even before I knew enough English to know what it said!

Enough about me, don't think you'd escape - what's your everyday superpower @Noah😀

My everyday superpower is "being able to keep up with what's new".

It could be the news or what's new in music or what's new in movies + shows. Basically I'm good at keeping up with what's new in general. There is sooooo much news constantly being released all the time, all day every day, and it's quite the chore to keep up with it all. It's like a full time job but it doesn't pay LOL. I do feel like I'm more educated than most people though because I know what's going on while most people just read a few of the main headlines. I'm talking Spotify, tech, music, movies + shows, politics, local, national, world, and more "news".

I'm probably so good at it because I'm on Twitter and Reddit a lot and I like reading about what's new. It's why I'm also really into marketing. When I see an artist promoting their new music, or a new movie or cool new tech product being advertised, I like to look over the marketing and just appreciate how it's being communicated to people from the design and the messaging.

A tweet I posted in 2016 sums it up best:

"Information Overload: Trying to constantly keep up with the latest tweets, news, music, movies, videos, etc, without your head blowing up 😩 💣"

It's definitely been harder to keep up these days...

My "keeping up with what's new" song: "Tell Me Something I Don't Know" by Selena Gomez

It was hard to find a song that fit the theme haha

That exactly, @XPerryMental

Anyway, from time to time I get told I'm like a bank or that i pretend to be poorer than I really am. So, the ability to gatekeep my spendings is probably my superpower. Not sure what would be its soundtrack though.

It does have a hole in it named Amon Tobin and vinyl records. : )

Great question! One everyday superpower that comes to mind is letting

for an optimal amount of time.

I like to drink a lot of green tea (or sometimes oolong tea) throughout the day; and I’d consider myself pretty good at letting the tea infuse in hot water for the right amount of time (usually 2-3 minutes for green tea) so that the brew doesn’t end up too weak, or too bitter and tannic. Cheers!

DEDICATION: I never quit. I turn down low balling marketing/web-dev jobs because I'm on my own grind. For someone who sits and makes music most of the day, I definitely go to the gym 3 minutes away. Also, I took off my broken hand cast to keep grinding. The master bedroom is mine and I get to lay down then get up on the PC and work on music / record vocals so it's pretty chill even "in the hood".

Shoutout to @toofknbusy because that's the music in the background in this video. https://www.instagram.com/tv/CVM7VwqjuIG/

His music gets me pumped up and ironically when I'm listening to him, I'm busy myself. Pretty sure he will be in my top 5 people in the new year's recap.

Here's his profile by the way, I'm a big fan but we talk and I'm getting a Busy tattoo when I'm not busy. His lyrics are really good advice too if you listen closely. Also, he has served in the military so mad respect for that.

Definitely having perfect rhythm. I could get behind a drum kit after not playing in 5 years and be able to play Slipknot/Hardcore breakdowns patterns effortlessly. I play guitar, bass, & sing as well. Check out some of my work

Hey everyone,

I loved reading all of your answers; it's been great to learn a bit more about everyone!

I might have a few coffee questions for you @Hubo

And I'll need some tips from @Katerina on waking up on time. I manage to do it (give or take 15 minutes), but it's always a struggle getting out of bed 😅

As the week comes to a close, I suppose it's my turn to answer my own question. I know it was a tricky one — I've been trying to come up with my answer all week! After a great deal of consideration, I'd have to say my superpower is perseverance. Despite the onslaught of work I deal with working towards my BSc in Biology, I never give up, and I'm willing to do whatever is needed to reach my goals. It's been tough dealing with all the exams recently, but I'm working through it.

As for my "superhero" soundtrack, I'd have to give it to "Unstoppable" by The Score.

Thank you to everyone who answered my Question of the Week; keep an eye out for @MattSuda's Question of the Week to be posted in a few hours!
