Count one more for Chromecast support.
It's an absolute must on Android.
+1 on this for sure. Android support without chromecast is almost like a slap in the face, especially when you look at that SDK and consider how little extra effort would be needed to add support when you've already done the heavy lifting with adding general android support.
If I use casting from my chrome tab using your web player, the stream (wich is generated through my PC over my own internal network) is breaking up even in the lowest 480p standard quality setting..
This means that if I want to stream to my Chromecast I should use the SpotiCast (free) app on android via my tablet, smartphone to stream to my chromecast... Because my browser on my Windows PC and the Spotify Client software on the same PC are not able to do so.
Or install a jamcast server setup the spotify plugin and thus stream from my PC using jamcast, not using the chromecast and thus using another device (blue ray player an/or soundbar wich picks up the stream and then sends it to the speakers and TV,..
In any of above workaround is is also imminent that the streaming device is turned on...
This is thus a breach in your Service provisioning,...
Because what I expect from a "Streaming Service in Saas mode is that I tell a receiving device (speakrs/soundbar/tv) to pick up the stream.
This telling can be through your client software, web portal version, app on any device.
But the result should be that after I've told sotify to stream to a ceratin device, I can turn off my app, client, browser; because at that moment the stream would be served directly to the receiver.
Is there a plan to add volume level support for chromecast on the windows desktop client like I have from android? It's weird to have to use two different devices to play to my chromecast! Glad it's in the app at all though!
Since the new chromecast software (HOME), it's not possible for me to use the read functions of spotify. It's not possible to change the music and add a title to the next reading. Is some one from spotify can help ?
Actions already undertaken :
- Uninstall and reinstall (both chromcast and spotify)
- I have the same problem on all my devices.
system description:
- Android 6.0.1
- Chromecast audio8136 V1.21.74816
- Spotify V 6.9.0.1212
Thanks in advance.
