What songs do you like to play at work

Here are some examples and how they would  help you at work:

To enhance focus and productivity at work, consider instrumental or lo-fi music, or classical pieces with no lyrics. Songs that are upbeat and motivational, like "Eye of the Tiger" or "Happy", can also be helpful for boosting morale and energy.

Instrumental and Lo-Fi Music:
  • Instrumental pieces are ideal for background music, allowing you to concentrate without the distraction of lyrics.

  • Ambient and post-rock music can help block out distractions and create a calming atmosphere for deep work.

  • These beats provide a moderate rhythm that is both relaxing and engaging, making them suitable for various tasks.

  • Specifically designed for study and focused work, these beats offer instrumental easy-listening to keep your brain engaged.

Upbeat and Motivational Songs:
  • "Happy" by Pharrell Williams: A popular choice for events and background music, this song is known for its upbeat and cheerful vibe.

  • "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor: A classic motivational anthem that can help you stay focused and energized during work.

  • "9 to 5" by Dolly Parton: A relatable song about work, especially for those in white-collar jobs.

  • "Takin' Care of Business" by Bachman Turner Overdrive: A song about the routine of working.

  • "Africa" by Toto: An upbeat song that's been used in various workplace settings.

Other Songs for Workplace Enjoyment:
  • "Work From Home" by Fifth Harmony: A song about working from home, which some may enjoy.

  • "Blinding Lights" by The Weeknd: A popular song that has been used in many office playlists.

  • "Dreams" by Fleetwood Mac: A smooth and laid-back track with reflective lyrics.

  • "Livin' On A Prayer" by Bon Jovi: A classic rock anthem that can be motivating.

  • "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey: A popular song that can boost morale and encourage team spirit.

For me, the best work playlists are the ones I already know well—familiar tunes that don’t distract with surprises or catchy lyrics. I usually go for instrumental, lo-fi beats, or mellow acoustic tracks to keep my focus sharp.

I also find it really helpful to listen to music while planning my day. It puts me in the right mindset and makes organizing tasks feel less like a chore. Using a good planner while jamming to the right playlist? That’s a productivity win in my book.

I work as a truck driver, so I drive between 10-14 hours a day, so I love to put on road trip music and songs I can sing along to as that helps keep my mind active and break up the drive a little bit! My favourites are country songs, particularly Alan Jackson's Chattahoochee

Or something up beat like Sugar Cult's Memory

I have about 2,000 songs saved to my Spotify library so I know I always have something to listen to even if I'm not looking for something completely new to me!

Thanks for sharing. I like listening to (slow) instrumental or vocal jazz music, but at work I also use it as background music. When driving, I prefer listening to music that certainly keeps me awake.
