I demand to know why Spotify is paying for Trump's inauguration.
This can not stand, and it's a be or not be question for me.
You canāt be serious šš
Iād suggest you fact check yourself.
**Also my reply is related to the person who said that 3/4 of the us voted for him.
idk why Spotify community has the option to reply when it didnāt actually reply.
This is absolutely not 3/4. 49,80 vs 48,32ā¦
31.5% voted for him and it was for lowered grocery prices, despite every single major economic recession for the last 50 years was under GOP leadership. 30% voted for Harris. 36% abstained. Apathy is why he won.
What a shame. As soon as I saw this, I canceled my subscriptionāthough Spotifyās donation was merely symbolic, the principle matters. I will also no longer invest in Spotify shares. As a European and Swedish company, I expected them to uphold strong moral values, but like so many corporations, they seem to prioritize profit over social, political, and environmental responsibility. Truly disappointing and disheartening.

I cancelled my subscription today because I'm Canadian and Trump wants to annex/invade us and ruin our economy. I didn't realize that Spotify is Swedish, not American, but upon looking into it further I discovered that American investors including Universal Music Studios own large shares of the company, and that they donated $150,000 to Trump's inauguration. I'm posting this because this is unacceptable and shameful and I want the company to know that I won't support it.
https://www.deezer.com/explore/en-us/features/transfer-playlist/ move to Deezer, which is based in France, and not financing Trump. Click, select "Spotify", you are done. Super east, all your playlist transferred.
I did it, bye bye fascism.
When I heard about this, I cancelled immediately. I donāt do business with fascists or their simps. Switching to Deezer, a French alternative.
I'm American (usa). We are also canceling our subscription. We do not support the choices Trump is making and will not assist in any of his scheming. Canada, we hope you all are safe from the crazy happening here.
Yep, been a member for years, but what the **bleep**. As a European company, this is even more stupid. Moving my family over to Deezer as we speak, and when Iām done Iām cancelling my account.
If you transfer to deezer, they have a handy partner taking care of the playlist transfer for you, itās a breeze.
Tried to message them to file a complaint and they ended the convo without reply and I couldnāt type anymore
3/4? wth are you even talking about, US eligible voters are around 255m. 77/255 = 30% that's not even a third.
EDIT: tried to reply to the 3/4 comment. What kind of broken community system is this even, providing a "reply" button on a comment that does not actually let you reply to a comment.
Been a Spotify member since 2011. Cancelled my subscription because of this.
Unfortunately, Deezer is owned by the Americans: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Access_Industries
May I suggest you take a look at Tidal?
I have been a premium member for over ten years. But supporting totalitarianism is a no-go for me. I am cancelling my subscription after I have downloaded my data. Get**bleep** together Spotify. This is not ok.
Actually, ~38% of Deezer is owned by an American private investor it seems. The majority of Tidal is actually American owned.
There has been a large thread on the topic here (started by me):

In any case, thanks for joining the fight!
Thank you for this information.
It is really hard to find a non-American alternative. I will try Qobuz ten, or maybe Podimo since I'm mostly listening podcasts atm.
If that doen't work I guess I have to settle for an American company that doesn't pay Trump. All better than indirectly giving my money to Trump and Joe Rogan.
It's super easy. I switched to Deezer when I heard they gave money to Trump's inauguration. When you sign up to Deezer you go into your account and select the "music" tab and then "import". It gives you several options of where you want to import from, including Spotify. You sign into your Spotify account and it transfers everything EVERYTHING, all your playlists, liked songs, etc.
Cancelled immediately and joined Deezer. Been a subscriber and top 1-3% listener for years. Too bad Spotify. Bad move.
