My Question or Issue
Hi! I created years ago some sort of blindtest app as a school project using songs stored locally on my phone. The app was fun to dev and to play at parties. I had the idea back then to enhance it using the spotify API but only found the time and motivation to work on it recently.
I just made some preliminary tests to see if the project is viable but I seem to be stuck on 2 issues :
First question:
The star feature of the main blindtest game requires playing multiple songs at the same time. I did the Web Playback SDK tutorial to understand how things works and it appears that playing multiple songs is impossible. I though of several approaches like :
- save/record the musics locally to then play them all at once, but I don't think that's in line with spotify's T&Cs and might add latency/delay before each round of my game.
- Only use the previews of the songs but I haven't looked into this solution and have no idea if this might works. And having only the preview might be too short.
Any Idea about this issue? I'm glad I checked that before working on the project further.
Second question (dont bother answering if there's no solution for the 1st):
I'm confused about the non-commercial use of the API. If the user of my app pays Spotify premium and have to register first on his account on my app in order to play my game, can I earn money with my app? With ads, subscription, premium stuff things like that. If I respect the conditions like showing the songs credentials ect is OK or still not authorised?
Thank you very much in advance for reading me and sorry for my bad english.
