내 질문 또는 문제

Hello, I'm asking because I'm curious even after reading the Spotify Developer Regulation Book. (Please understand that I use a translator because I'm not good at English.)

I would like to use your api to build a recommendation algorithm simply.
I was wondering if this corresponds to machine learning in the regulations book.

Of course, I'm a college student and apply for an api for portfolio and learning purposes, so I don't generate revenue, including advertising, and I won't use it for other commercial purposes.

thanks

Hi moonyeon, welcome to the Community!

I appreciate your interest in using the Spotify API, but unfortunately, I have to disappoint you.

According to the Spotify Developer Policy and Terms, using the Spotify Platform or any Spotify Content to train a machine learning or AI model is prohibited. This includes ingesting Spotify Content into a machine learning or AI model.

Additionally, the low rate limit for new apps in development mode will prevent you from accessing audio features for many tracks.

If you’re looking for alternatives, you might consider using an open-source music dataset such as the Million Song Dataset. Those datasets can be useful for training AI models without violating Spotify’s terms.

I hope this answers your question. Let me know if you need any more information!
