Am I understanding the client options available to us correctly?

Solved!

Am I understanding the client options available to us correctly?

Hi all - after going through the Web API & playback SDK documentation I think I get what is & is not allowed, but before I start shooting myself in the face due to ignorance: can anyone tell me if the below understandings are incorrect?

Web API:
- I can control which Spotify device is active
- I can control playback on the active Spotify device
- when controlling playback I cannot modify the audio stream (i.e: add filters, use an equilizer, modify playback speed) other than volume level
- I cannot be a device / I cannot play songs via API calls. I need the SDK for this

Web Playback SDK:
- I can be a Spotify device
- I can play audio
- I can control the playback of audio for my device
- The SDK MUST be run in a supported browser - from what I can see people who have tried to use this SDK in an electron app have become frustrated
- As with the Web API: I cannot modify the audio stream
- I cannot download songs for offline use (iOS & Android SDKs apparently have options here)

All you have said is correct.

I only have to add: To use the Web Playback SDK, the user needs to have a Spotify Premium subscription.
