Change aspect of cover image!

Change aspect of cover image!

Hi, I'm making a web app and I want to know if it is legal to round un the cover image of the music that is currently being played.

I want to inform that this app will not be used for any commercial reasons, it will be just a simple project app for my portfolio.

I think that this is not allowed.

For more detailed guidelines, refer to Spotify's Design Guidelines.

I read the docs and they said that you shouldn't alter the images, but I'm asking beacause I wouldn't make any money out of it and maybe beacause of that I could alter them by making them a circle instead of a square.

It doesn't matter if you won't make money from the app. They will not approve it if it doesn't follow the guidelines. If you don't mind just leaving the app in development mode though, which means you have to add each person that will be using it to your allow list, then them not approving it doesn't matter either. It's not really a legal issue, especially if the app isn't commercial.
