Development mode API key, User Management, login with Google

Solved!

Development mode API key, User Management, login with Google

Hello,

My API key is in the Development quota mode (https://developer.spotify.com/documentation/web-api/concepts/quota-modes). I've followed the directions to add testers under the User Management tab. Most of my testers are able to login without any issues, but one of them is having issues. After they have successfully OAuth-ed, all API calls give the usual error of an account that is not in the user management list ("Check settings on developer.spotify.com/dashboard, the user may not be registered."). I've double checked the email for typos etc, tried removing the email and re-adding, but nothing has worked. The only thing I've noticed that is different for this user is that they are logging into Spotify with Google, rather than an email/password directly.

Does this method of login not work for the Development Mode? Is it somehow different than the user's email being present in the User Management list? If so, is it possible to add this login method to the User Management page for a user?

Thank you!!

Hi zanderpaul,

Have the user go to their account page and provide you with the email shown when they click "Edit profile." Just a heads-up—it's case sensitive.

Let me know if this answers your question, and feel free to ask if you have any others!
