- Okay, this is going to probably spark quite a discussion if it reaches people.
Just an idea:
a lot of us want to listen to music but it can be risky to bring our phones all over with us. The runner/hiker/athlete wants to listen to music and maybe record their run/hike but doesn’t want or need their phone with them while their practicing, vacationers want to get away from technology sometimes but would love to put music on somewhere. The average blue collar worker probably doesn’t have the luxury of being on their phone while their working but if they were honest they would feel better playing music from a separate device or put headphones in while they’re working. The student may want to put music or a podcast on while they study but doesn’t want the opportunity to spend all their study time being tempted to check social media every 15 minutes. (BEEN THERE)
the list could go on and on about the love of music but the requirement of having a cell phone just to operate their music app.
I think what we need is a way to listen to our favorite songs or podcasts but using it separate from our phone. Phones nowadays are an all in one product and that’s nice but what happens when you just need 1 thing?
what I’m saying is I think it’s time we brought back the iPod, the music player, the zune if you were into that.
A Spotify product that creates the ability to log in/sign up into your Spotify account and simply play our music and podcasts with a headphone Jack,(whoa throwback) or a Bluetooth feature to pair with your headphone/speaker of choice. With a Wi-Fi connection, Search the endless Spotify library, build your playlists and access your own through your account. It should be waterproof for when you’re running on the beach, shockproof for when you’re doing physical things. Put on whatever you like to your hearts content without the need of an app on your phone. It can even be used by kids with parental controls and a curated listening experience for age appropriate content like kids music and audiobooks!
Leave your phone at home for that run, leave the phone in your car when you’re at the beach. Leave it in your locker/dorm when you need to work or study! Put on your favorite music/podcast and only worry about yourself and what you’re doing without being bothered by notifications or calls. What a freeing and liberating experience!
