My Question or Issue

Hey team,

I have a feature request. Often, when we like a song, we search for similar ones to add to our playlists. The current recommendations are based on what other users who like the same song are listening to, and we get suggestions based on maximum likelihood.

However, sometimes the song’s appeal is more about the overall vibe, tempo, lyrics, or beats. If we could add a parameter that finds similar songs based on these factors—like frequency, tempo, and other musical elements—it would be really beneficial for users to find songs that match the vibe they're looking for.

Personally, I felt that when searching "songs like X" (where X is my favorite song), the search results often reflect personal biases, as some people may like certain songs while others may not. Matching the features of the song might be more helpful in providing accurate search results and song recommendations.

This is already built into the Spotify Web API.

You can get the audio features of a track with: Get Track's Audio Features

And use them with: Get Recommendations
