Entire Artist List

My Question or Issue

Ok new to the API and this forum so please bear with me ...I am looking at all these incredible apps that people have created (and they are awesome) and I was wondering if its possible to get an entire list of every artist that is in Spotify? Along with some of their metrics like listeners and followers last release etc etc?

I'm just really interested in seeing stats of artists and comparing them and find it easier to do from a data perspective where I can look at multiple at the same time, or all artists of a certain genre etc, rather than manually searching.

This might not be something that is possible and probably isn't what the api is intended for (obviously!) but figured this would be the place to ask the question and see if someone knew the answer!
