How to refresh a playlist after a change?

I'm making some changes on a playlist with web API, like adding or removing a song, and that changes don't take effect automatically. 

How do I solve this problem?

I get this issue when changing playlists on my phone and trying to use them on my computer after not having Spotify open on the computer in a while.  Happens on both my Windows and my Linux partitions.

Workaround I have found is to have the desktop "client" (aka glorified web browser) open and remove and re-add a song from the playlist on my phone.  Extremely infuriated that there isnt a way to forcibly resynchronise the playlist.
