Incorrect release_date for tracks added from an album instead of the original single

I'm trying to retrieve the release date of each track in a playlist through the Spotify Web API.
When a song was originally released as a single, the album.release_date field correctly returns the single’s release date.

However, if the artist later includes that single in a full album, and the album version of the track is the one added to the playlist, then album.release_date returns the album’s release date, not the original release date of the single.

Since the API does not provide a release_date field on the track object itself, I can’t access the track’s original release date in this situation.

Has anyone found a reliable workaround?
