My Question or Issue
Hi there,
I've been getting an issue with one of my clients where two title tracks that are supposed to have apostrophes keep displaying a "'" error in an embedded Spotify player on his WordPress website. I was wondering what the issue was and how it could be fixed?
Hey @rls04, help's here!
Hmm, let's dive right into this! Could you send over a screenshot of how things are looking on your end? Also, could you try to use the exact code generated from this website: https://developer.spotify.com/documentation/widgets/generate/embed/. Let me know how you get on!
Have a good one,
Hubo
Hey Hubo,
Thanks for your response. I really appreciate it!
I copied the two tracks that had display issues and these were the codes that generated from the website you provided:
<iframe src="https://open.spotify.com/embed/track/6L9oGtVHxfVFTlDdMOqy0s" width="300" height="380" frameborder="0" allowtransparency="true" allow="encrypted-media"></iframe>
<iframe src="https://open.spotify.com/embed/track/2WgVQYLZFnxWlvZtRxS0y2" width="300" height="380" frameborder="0" allowtransparency="true" allow="encrypted-media"></iframe>
What's odd though, is I just checked my client's website (Like 5 minutes ago from when I'm sending this post). And I don't see the issue on the website anymore. I included a screenshot of how it was looking up until about yesterday and a screenshot I took today.
Not sure what happened, but the issue might have just resolved itself.
Best,
rls04
Hey Folks, I see the same problem for a few days now in my embedded players. It changed on all pages I have embedded players overnight. I have opened a ticket with tech support and after the initial reply (escalated to dev) they basically ignore my follow up requests for some sort of an update (like for example, yup, it's an issue we working on it). So, it's kinda refreshing that I'm not the only one who sees this. Any ideas about what's going on?
Hey Tommy,
I had the same issue, and in my case, it just resolved itself after a few days. I didn't touch the code before or after it happened, so my guess it was something on Spotify's side.
If you can, I would wait like three more days to see if it will change back. My speculation is Spotify could update it. Hopefully, the developer can get back to you.
Hey rls04, thanks for your reply. It's going on since late October at this point. Do you see the issue pop back on your end? Many thanks!
Yikes, that's a longer window than the one I had. For my client, the issue lasted for about a week or two. Once it returned to normal, I haven't had an issue with it.
Hey there you, Yeah, you! 😁 Welcome - we're glad you joined the Spotify Community! While you here, let's have a fun game and get…
