Hi there:

 

I'm writing an application to display and control current player progress. Something like the ThingPulse esp8266-spotify-remote. That program checks status every second, but I think that's excessive. I'd like to minimize the load on the Spotify API servers and minimize the likelihood of throttling. Are there any recommended ways to minimize API calls and be a "polite" client?
