Hi everyone!
I'm currently working on a music-based multiplayer mobile game where Spotify-authenticated users can match with each other and compete in real-time to guess songs based on selected genres, artists, or playlists.
Think of it like a music quiz that runs on top of your favorite tracks. The concept is designed to create a fun and social music experience, especially for younger audiences (16–27), and is deeply integrated with Spotify for both authentication and content playback.
As I build this out using Spotify’s developer tools, I’ve run into a potential limitation regarding playback visibility in the Spotify client — which affects the overall user experience during gameplay.
I'm curious if:
- There are any workarounds or sandbox-like modes for handling playback in a more controlled environment
- Anyone has dealt with similar use cases involving synchronized or silent playback logic
- It’s possible to explore deeper collaboration with the Spotify Developer or Partner teams for innovative projects like this
If you're a developer who's tackled something similar or someone from Spotify who’s open to new use cases, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
Thanks in advance!
