Question about streaming/non-streaming apps (i.e. showing now playing without changing playback)

Question about streaming/non-streaming apps (i.e. showing now playing without changing playback)

I'm currently developing an app (which i plan to turn commercial) where one of the features would be showing the user's now playing track with additional info.
I won't be modifying/transferring playback, only displaying it, kinda like some users do it on discord.

I was wondering if this is allowed?

The docs (https://developer.spotify.com/compliance-tips#special-considerations-for-streaming) make no mention of v1/me/player/currently-playing

So I was thinking that maybe it would be allowed?

Or maybe i can even use the web playback SDK, except i'll only use it to listen for events without controlling playback.
Another way would be to use the SDK, include the scopes `user-read-playback-state` but not `user-modify-playback-state`

Is this allowed? thanks!
