Request for Access to Upload Podcasts to Spotify from External Platform

Hello Spotify Developer Support,

I’m reaching out regarding podcast integration with Spotify.

I operate a platform where multiple users create and publish their own podcasts. I’m looking to implement a feature that allows users to connect their Spotify for Podcasters account and publish their podcast episodes directly to Spotify with a single click from within my platform.

After reviewing Spotify’s developer documentation, I was unable to find any public API or endpoint that supports direct podcast uploads or publishing content to Spotify. Could you please clarify:

1. Is there a private or partner API available for uploading podcasts to Spotify?

2. What are the necessary steps or requirements to gain access to such functionality?

3. If direct upload is not supported, is there an alternative process for streamlining podcast submission to Spotify from an external platform?

We aim to create a seamless experience for our users while fully complying with Spotify’s policies and technical guidelines. Any information or direction you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

I escalated your inquiry to the Spotify team, and here’s what I’ve learned:

At this time, Spotify does not offer a public API or endpoint that supports direct podcast uploads or publishing episodes to Spotify from third-party platforms like yours. This includes the Spotify for Podcasters (S4P) platform, and currently, there are no plans to provide such functionality via a partner or private API.

The standard approach, especially for podcast hosting platforms, is to generate an RSS feed for each podcast. Creators can then submit that RSS feed to Spotify through Spotify for Podcasters. Once set up, Spotify automatically ingests new episodes as they’re published to the feed.

While this might not offer the seamless one-click publishing experience you were hoping for, it remains the most compliant and supported integration method today.
