Spotify WebSDK - Playback stopped working on Safari for Desktop & iOS

My Question or Issue
The WebSDK player has stopped working properly for Safari on desktop & iOS. I've filled a report on GitHub here: https://github.com/spotify/spotify-web-playback-sdk-example/issues/12

To reproduce:

Steps:

• Run the repo (https://github.com/spotify/spotify-web-playback-sdk-example) as described in the README.
• Everything runs as expected on Chrome.
• On Desktop Safari -> playback does not start or work till you hit the next button. Play/pause functionality is broken. Once you pause a song it cannot be played again.
• On Mobile Safari -> everything is broken.
