My Question or Issue

Hello everyone!

I have the following issue / question: I have a Spotify Connect Speaker and I want to start playback on it through the Spotify API. However, when I haven't used the speaker for a few hours, it is inactive. It doesn't appear in the device list anymore and the only way to get it playing again is to manually select it on a device like my laptop in the connect speaker menu.

After doing so I can also use it with the Spotify API again.

However, that is of course incredibly unpractical and defeats the entire purpose of using the Spotify API.

So, to solve this problem, I've tried various things: Specifying the device_id in /player/play and specifying the device_id in transfer_playback. However, neither of those workarounds worked for me.

Apparently this issue has been around forever, but I was wondering if any of you guys found a workaround? I haven't been able to find anything and it's really frustrating since it entirely defeats the purpose of the API.
