Student Subscription

Trying to change my spotify premium account to a student account before my free trial is over.  I keep getting this message: 

• "Your student credentials are already associated with another Spotify account."

I only have one spotify account and don't understand how my student credentials could already be in use??

Thank you for contacting us, I will try to help you out with your issue.

Looks like you have to cancel your subscription by following the instructions from this link: https://support.spotify.com/account_payment_help/payment_help/how-to-cancel-your-subscription/. Do not worry, you won't lose your playlists.

Once the subscription has ended, you should have no problems with the student account.

How do I then get the student subscription when I am on the free version? Will I lose any of my songs?

You won't lose your playlists.
