Unable to use Amazon Echo with Spotify family

Unable to use Amazon Echo with Spotify family

I've been using my Echo with my Spotify premium account for sometime and it all worked great except that if I wanted to use my spotify account on the Echo and another device at the same time it was a no go. I decided to upgrade to family so that my Echo can have its own dedicated account and this is where all **bleep** broke loose... I revoked access to my echo from my spotify account settings and when I tried to link the new spotify account(part of the family subscription) I couldn't do it. I then tried to link the original account but that did not work either. I had a chat with Amazon's support and according to them Spotify family doesn't work with their Echo. After hearing that I went to my spotify account and downgraded my subscription from family back to premium hoping I can re-enable the integration but apparently I need to wait until the month of family runs out for my subscription to change. How can I force my subscription to become premium sooner so that I don't have to wait a month stuck with something I don't use?
