“New episodes” showing podcasts I don’t follow or care aboht

the “new episodes” section of my Spotify feed is constantly filled with podcasts I’ve either never listened to, or listened to for 10 seconds and stopped months ago. It’s incredibly annoying because it pushes down the podcasts I actually care about and I don’t see them. How can I get certain podcasts excluded? I don’t follow these podcasts, I turned off all my notification settings, updated the app, and logged out and logged back in. I even turned off explicit content hoping that would filter out some of these but nope. I’m seeing this on both my phone and computer. 

This is so annoying to me that I’m considering not listening to podcasts on Spotify anymore, because it means I can’t search and explore podcasts without being constantly notified about them forever.

Thanks for posting on the Community and welcome.

In this case, can you share with us a screenshot of what you're mentioning? This way we'll have a better look of what you see on your side.

On another note, keep in mind there's a section on the mobile app called What’s new and shows the latest releases of your favorite artists and podcasts. You can find this section in the upper-right corner of the home page by hitting the bell icon, next to the settings. There, you can sort the newest releases by podcasts, and even better, by unplayed ones. You can read all about it here.

New episodes of UNFOLLOWED podcasts keep showing up in NEW EPISODES list. EVERY SINGLE DAY.

NOBODY is asking about the what’s new list.

Why do you all keep replying with answers that have nothing to do with the questions???

Same here. I have unsubscribed from bailey sarian since she was problematic during depp v heard trial and I have her still in my new episodes. It's been half a year now. Also, I don't have all my new episodes but have some celebrity podcast of which I've listened ONE episode and never subscribed. And on the top I have sth I see for the first time in my life.

Thank you for letting us know!
Could you update your app to the latest version and then try removing your cached data as shown in this article?
Restart the app after this and let us know if there's a difference.
Everything works as intended on our end and we couldn't replicate the issue.

I have been on Spotify for three weeks. I have only followed three podcast however in the podcasts and shows section and the your shows section it has podcast that I haven't listened to or subscribed too. I can't remove them from my list   it is also so poor that when you select show only played shows as soon as you leave the list is repopulated with all of the shows. 

Have a look at pocket casts and see how it should work. This is a major flaw from such a large company that could fix this issue very easily. Many people are bringing it up but nothing is happening

I listened to a few episodes of a podcast but didn’t like it enough to follow it and I can’t get rid of it in my homepage, new episode section, or your show section

Yup, I'm in the same boat. I've been seeing something I never followed, for so long that's starting to annoy me -- so I started searching for an answer. No 'remove/block' button. Tried clearing cache, does nothing. It's really annoying when it's something that was really bad and here it is every time I open the app. Please give us a solution!

Other users would also like to option to add/remove content from their landing screen. You can show your support to the Idea here.

The status Not Right Now simple means that this is not something that will be deployed in the next update, however ideas can still gather traction and be implemented in upcoming releases of the app.
