My Question or Issue
Hi! I noticed that the playlists that I had put in a folder, all appeared on my public profile next to each other instead of ordered by the date they were created like the other playlists on my profile. I tried removing the playlists from the folder which then moved all the playlists to the most recent ones on my profile. Does anyone know how to fix this so I can keep my playlists on my public profile in chronological order, or if its a bug maybe?
Hi there @luciac,
Welcome to the Spotify Community!
The playlists you've added to your profile (including the ones that are in folders) follow the Custom order you've set in the app / Web Player, so feel free to move them around and organize them the way you want them to appear! Just note that pinned playlists are excluded.
If you don't see the Custom order option, make sure to set the filter in Your Library to Playlists:
Cheers 🤘
is this feature removed? custom does not show up for me anymore
Hey @linglingmotherf,
Welcome to the Community and thank you for joining the conversation.
That's an odd behavior as this option should be available for everyone on mobile, desktop and Web Player. Keep in mind that the option only shows up if you select the tag "Playlist" at the top of Your Library as shown in the screenshot sent previously.
If you still cannot see the option, would you mind checking on a different device (using your own account) to see if it makes any difference? If you don't have another one available, you can borrow one from a friend or family member to test it out.
If you can see it on a different device, but not in yours, we'd recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app by following the steps mentioned in this article.
Hope this helps. If anything else comes up, don't hesitate to ask.
Hi Oscar,
Similar to the above situation, I added a playlist (let’s call it ‘X’), that had been previously added to my profile into a folder with other playlists. Then, following the addition of X into the folder of other playlists, I reviewed my profile and X, which I had previously added to my profile and was followed by other, newer, playlists, was moved to the top of the list of my playlists in my profile. I also lost the ‘likes’ in this playlist, so it may mean that those that had saved the playlist no longer have access to it. What a shame. Please advise how to restore to old profile playlist order.
Hey @simplyliving_,
Thanks for reaching out!
Open your app and on the library sidebar, select 'Playlists' and 'Custom order' as a sorting option:
Once this is done, you'd be able to take any playlist or folder and change their order. The changed order will be reflected on your profile after a few seconds or you can exit & re-enter the app if you wish to sync the update faster.
As for the playlist saves, moving a playlist to a folder shouldn't change its privacy settings but I'd advise checking if the playlist is still set to 'public'. If it's still public, try getting it out of the folder to see if the saves would re-appear. If they don't, try clearing your app's cached data.
Hope this helps! Keep us posted on how things go 🙂
Hey there @simplyliving_,
Thanks for getting back to us.
Could you let us know what do you mean by "unable to shuffle the playlists' order"? Can you not modify the order of the playlist with the steps @Vasil mentioned previously? Also, what exactly happens when you try to remove the "X" playlist from the folder?
Sending us a screen recording of what you're seeing on your end would come in handy. You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert Video option in the post editor. You can also upload it to Google Drive and share the link with us (make sure the video has the permissions for anyone to see it).
We'll be waiting for your reply.
