local files not showing up in playlist

i turned on local files and the folder showed up, with the files in it, but i try to add them to a playlist and they don't show up or change the number of songs in the playlist. i have show hidden files on.

Just to check, are you having issues adding the local files to all of your playlists, or just to a specific one? Do you notice any difference after clearing stored cache from the app?

Should the issue persist, could you also let us know what device and operating system you're using, along with the Spotify version?

When i try adding a local song in my private playlist, the playlist remains empty

I have the same problem on my iPhone, local songs stored on there too. They show up in liked songs but not other kind of playlists. Clearing cache did not work unfortunately

Hey there, @krismighty,

Sounds like you might have Smart Shuffle toggled on for the other playlists: as long as the feature is activated, any local files in the playlist will become temporarily hidden.

When i turn on smart shuffe my local files disappear and i cant listen to them. I think smart shuffle is a great way to find new music, but i dont use it because my local files are removed from the playlist when i turn it on. If there is a way to have both active at the same time my problem would be solved
