My Question or Issue

So when using spotify in the car (2015 Opel Corsa with intellilink R3.0) and having the spotify open on the screen, the sound does once in a while just cut for up to 10 seconds and then comes back on by speeding up the 10 seconds or so that it cut and then it goes on like normal. It does this only in the mentioned car with bluetooth and it did it on my older iPhone 14 plus and it does it now also on my iPhone 15 plus, and it does it only when the spotify app is open on the screen. If its open in the background, then no problem. Ive tried looking for answers and found one somewhat similar problem but it didnt help.

Thank you for answers in advance!

Hey there @Salaatti!

 Thanks for reaching out.

Can you try these steps and see if it makes a difference? This process can help you clear any cache that might be causing issues on your devices.

Also, if you have one, it would be worth testing on an Android device and checking if you can replicate this.

Keep me posted!

It seemed to work for now, thank you. But ill post if the problem hasnt gone away.

Back at it again, have been very lazy to post here regarding this problem. The solution worked for about 2 weeks and then came back. However it has gotten worse from the last time. Now the audio at some point completely cuts off multiple times even when the phone is closed, for around 10 seconds each time. It usually does it around 10min-1 hour after connecting to the aforementioned car with my iphone 15 plus. If I have the spotify app open and screen on, the old issue still persists but the new issue usually happens only once after connecting to the car. I’ve mostly just accepted my fate and ignored it but it is starting to slowly get on my nerves so I decided to ask here for more help if anyone might have a solution. Thanks in advance! @MateusM

 Hey @Salaatti,

Sorry to see this has been persisting!

Looking into some older issues that have shown similar symptoms, I'm thinking that some infotainment systems may be experiencing difficulties handling the data transmitted via Bluetooth, potentially leading to the abovementioned issues.

With this in mind, I'd try some further troubleshooting here to see if we can prevent this from occurring:

  • Disable Canvas (Settings > Playback > Canvas off) - this will reduce the data pushed over BT
  • Try lowering the streaming quality to Normal and monitor if the symptoms get better
  • Disable Autoplay - this will prevent background queue activity, further easing up the BT bandwidth
  • Check if 'Background App Refresh' is enabled for Spotify in the device settings; make sure to keep this 'On'

If nothing helps, I'd unpair & re-pair BT from both the car and iPhone sides and then I'd also take a look at the solution from this thread here as it seems like it could be of use to you as well.

Keep us posted on how things go 🙂 We'll be on the lookout.
