Free Spotify local file sync to ipad

I'm trying to sync some local tracks to my Ipad but the icon in spotify on my computer keeps "pending". There is plenty of space left on the ipad. I have tried searching on google and have come across multiple threads which said that you should be able to use this feature in the free version. How come my local files are not popping up on my ipad playlist?

The pc spotify account recognizes and play the local file, and syncs every other playlist to the ipad just fine, so I'm a little puzzled that I can't make this work.

What happens if you add all of those local files to a playlist?

I have tried adding a local file to one of my playlists. It still just keeps saying "pending"

Can you try increasing the cache size in Edit/Spotify > Preferences and see if that makes any difference?
