Specific local files not appearing on mobile

A while ago I added some local files from desktop to a playlist which was downloaded on my phone. I accidentally turned off the download option recently, and when I downloaded it again, the local files I had added were gone. When I tried to add them back along with some new local files, only the new files would appear on my phone. My guess is that since I didn't actually delete the old files, they're still technically in the playlist, despite them not showing up or playing through the playlist on both mobile and desktop. Is there any way I can fix this?
