Spotify app keeps crashing after last two updates

Ever since the last two updates of the spotify app for ios it crashes after a few minutes (really annoying as it wont even make it through an entire song even). I also notice my phone seems to get incredibly hot. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? I deleted and reinstalled the app yesterday but the problem persists. All other functions on the iPhone appear to be working normally

I am having a similar issue. Spotify will play approximately 30 seconds of a song and then crash. I updated the app, deleted and reinstalled. It worked a majority of the day after reinstalled, but now it is crashing again after a few seconds.
