iPhone will not auto play through car Bluetooth

Hello all, I’m looking to see if anyone has got an iPhone (ios11) to auto play whe connected to cars Bluetooth? I’ve searched for this but can only seem to find people who want to turn this feature off when I can’t get it to start in the first place. IPhone connects with the car as soon as I get in but usually says the Bluetooth device is paused meaning I’ve got to get the phone out of my pocket to hit play. Even with the Spotify app open, sliding up does not show the last track in the music section. I’ve looked through all settings in the Spotify app as well as the phone setting but can’t get this to work.

Hello, i have the same issue. Sometimes when i hit the play butten it seems to play but i have no sound in the car. then i have to close spotify and open it again and then it goes.
