Not receiving songs in my inbox/notifications from user not using Facebook

Hi, I've seen similar posts but no fix to what I'm searching for.

I recently told a friend about Spotify and they signed up, but they don't have a Facebook account. I have been sending them songs for a couple weeks and they receive them. But when they tried to send one to me today for the first time, I still haven't received anything.

I have tried logging in an out a bunch of times and haven't found anything to work. Please help!

Can I ask what version of Spotify you've currently got installed?

The version I am currently using on my PC is Version 0.8.5.1333.g822e0de8.

Hey 🙂 

Do you have a dedicated Spotify account or do you use Facebook to login? 

If you don't mind, it would be helpful if you could either post your Spotify username (or a link to your profile) here, or if you like you can send me a Private Message (clickable) and I will try and send you a track just to see if it is working at all (Please note, I do not work for Spotify, so if you would rather not share those details I totally understand!).

If you have a dedicated Spotify account, your username is easy to get, if you have a Facebook account, the easiest thing to do is get a link to your Spotify profile. To find that, just navigate to your profile in the top right of the client, then right click on your name in the profile window and select "Copy Spotify URI" 😉

Because the one you sent me worked, I asked my friend who only has a Spotify account and no Facebook account to try sending me a song again and I still am not receiving anything in my inbox.

Hi , just wanted to say that this is happening to me and my friend aswell. I only noticed a few days ago. I login using my spotify details and my username is @amishra123  !

This is happening to a bunch of my friends and I as well -- I can see that they sent me something in my Facebook inbox, but it doesn't show up in my Spotify inbox.  My username is prettyinpnk316 and the version of Spotify that I have on my computer is 0.8.5.1333.g822e0de8.  Please let us know when you find something!  Thank you!

i haven't been able to send or receive messages in months. the ONLY way for me to send a message is to right click, copy http link, and physically open facebook messenger and paste link. absolutely garbage, no use even having a private msg feature if it's completely broken. And from what I see I'm not the only one having the issue - it's spread out across the community under different topics.
