12.99 iphone charge and multiple devices

Solved!

12.99 iphone charge and multiple devices

Hi, I'm looking to use Spotify premium with my account on 4 devices, my iphone 5s, lg g2 android phone, lg tablet and macbook pro laptop. Do I have to pay the 12.99 to get the access across all 4 devices? If I subscribe through the webpage will it go through to my iphone as well as other devices? Thank you.

Edit: Apple handled my inquiry right away and fully reimbursed me following my complaint and provided 2 free movie rentals as well.

Hello and welcome to the community!
It doesn't matter which way you go to get premium, you get the same ability to use your spotify on any device of your choosing, be it iOS, android, pc or tv. The only difference is that as far as I know it is a bit more expensive to use the in app option for purchases in iphone, compared to using the spotify homepage.

No, you do not have to subscribe to premium to access Spotify on all 4 of your devices, however the free mode has limits such as ads.

The 12.99 charge is if you buy premium through the Apple App Store or Google Play.

It is cheaper to subscribe to premium through the Spotify website because it is 9.99

To subscribe to premium on the Spotify website, you need to sign in through this page:

http://www.spotify.com/account/subscription/

When you subscribe to premium, it will then update your account so you can use premium on all of your devices.

It sometimes can take a few hours for your account to update to premium. If you aren't able to use premium on your devices, try logging out and then back into the Spotify app.

Please note that while you can use your Spotify account on as many devices as you want, you can only use the offline mode on up to 3 devices.

Do you know why I am being charged 12.99 for premium through my apple account on my phone, as well as 9.99 through spotify on my computer? I'm being charged twice monthly for these two devices.

@juliakirst

It could be that you have subscribed to premium using multiple accounts.

I suggest you contact support so they can help you if you are having trouble tracking down where the other payment is coming from.

I am in my spotify app, it says UPGRADE TO PREMIUM FOR 3 MONTHS FOR 0.99..

So I upgrade to premium from in -app

I get an email receipt for $14.55

This is absolutely BOGUS. I click from in-app to upgrade to premium for $0.99 for 3 months and I get an email receipt for $14.55 for ONE MONTH!?

Absolutely not what I was in for - perhaps some further clarification so other people are not HOSED by this would help.

I feel robbed

@michaeltadz

For future knowledge,

The 0.99 for 3 months deal is only if you subscribe from the website.

The in-app purchase costs more because Apple charges a fee.

This is actually quite a common problem people have because of the confusion, so don't feel bad. Spotify cannot clarify this in the app because it is against Apple policy to explain to users that in-app purchases cost more. Spotify cannot provide a link to the website in the app.
