Access to browser-based beta

Solved!

Access to browser-based beta

How can I get access to the browser-based beta version of Spotify? I have a Windows 8 (Surface Pro) tablet and I'd love to try out the bigger, touch-friendlier, browser-based version instead of using the desktop version.

How can I sign up?

Thanks

Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂

I am not sure if it stills works, but you used to be able to grant yourself access by going to the following Facebook link:

Just remember that the web player isn't really designed for touch screens 😉

I'll see if I can make it work until Spotify releases an official Windows 8 ("metro" style) app.

Alright 🙂

Be sure to add your kudos and comments about a metro application to the official ideas topic.

the web player looks and behaves well in the metro version of internet explorer. there is one critical flas - when trying to play a song from a playlist i cant get it to play because spotify (stupidly) made it a double click which in any touch enabled browser like ie for metor is a zoom shortcut. so it just zooms in and out instead of playing the song. i can play radio stations thought (and i suppose doible tapping with the pen would work too but that kind of defeats the purpose).

Currently, the web beta is not designed to be touch screen friendly which is why this might be an issue.

There is more information about the web player over on it dedicated help section.
