I love Spotify (I have the Premium which proves that I like the service; I have friends that have mocked me for paying for internet radio instead of just downloading music or ripping CDs) but am getting frustrated with the Facebook integration. No, this isn't a rant.
Spotify isn't recognizing my FB password when I try to log in with the Spotify client. Before you tell me to double check that my passwords match, YES, they do. I actually went as far as resetting my FB password to assure myself that the password was/is correct.
The only way I'm getting into Spotify at all is by using the generated Spotify code sent via SMS or by using FB "auto-generate" codes for Apps.
I'm getting sick of it.
What can I do to get Spotify to recognize my FB password?
I would love it if Spotify would get away from a FB requirement. I know it's done to make music more "social" but it should be a user CHOICE not REQUIREMENT. Just my thought.

Hi haunted_dreams - It sounds as though you've got some extra security measures in place on Facebook.
If you have requested to receive a security code as an extra Facebook log in approval step, it could prevent Spotify from storing your details.
To ensure those settings are turned off please head over to your Facebook profile. From there click on the down arrow next to 'Home' > 'Account Settings' > 'Security' > 'Login Approvals'. Let us know how that works for you.
Hi haunted_dreams - That's quite strange. I'm sure we can sort out what's going on here.
Is this happening on both your mobile and your desktop? Exactly what error messages/ codes are you receiving when you log in with your Facebook email address and password?
I only use Spotify on my desktop.
I have the "Remember Me" option checked yet each time I start the application, I have to fill in my FB User name and Password (it is not stored like it should be).
The error reads: "Login Failed. Incorrect Password. The password you entered is incorrect. Try again".
At times I will get the SMS with a numerical code (it doesn't happen every time). I've been going to FB and using the "App Passwords" option, but the problem there is that I have to generate a new code every single time I log in to Spotify, as Spotify doesn't "Remeber Me".
As previously noted, I have changed my FB password and used that one when attempting to log in to Spotify, but Spotify still won't recognize my password (yet FB works just fine).
Any ideas? 😞

THANK YOU!
Seems to be working now that I turned that off. 🙂
Excellent - glad we could help!
You can't mean that the only options is to turn off the extra security layer?
The right approach is to logon to Facebook using your web browser and go to:
Settings -> security -> Login Approvals
There you see the following line:
Get Codes to use when you don't have your phone
Press the "Get Codes" and copy one of the codes. Use that in the password field in the Spotify Desktop application.
So, latest spotify is fcking crap design and now this is NOT SAVE password (saves only username)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HOW FIX THIS NIGHTMARE, AHH?! :@
