Basic Question--Account Name

I am about 2 weeks in to using Spotify Free (it's good enough for me).

I love mostly everything about it EXCEPT when I set up my Screen name (Temprock) and took a few hours to find my friends, pick genres, artisis, etc. and went "live" it appears that those friends of mine have no idea it's ME because I can't figure out how to get my Actual Name out there for them to Find and follow me.

I was easily able to identify my music friends by their actual names (not screennames) but not vice-versa. How do I get my real name attached to my Spotify free account? Or do I pretty much have to Start from Square 1 (new account new settings etc)? Dumbed down instructions or links appreciated.

[I wish I had been alerted when I selected my Screen Name before I did so something like :"Be careful, this is the name that will be permanently Searchable" or something like that]

Thanks for any assistance, I just want my actual name associated with my Account.

How did you create your Spotify account, did you use just an email address or a facebook profile to create the Spotify account?

Thanks for your response Jay. sorry bout posting in the wrong section (I'm a rank noobie). My recollection is I did not use the Facebook profile to open the A/C but my Facebook connections (those also on Spotify) did come into play as I sought Friends to follow here. All of their correct names appear but only my ScreenName does. I can find/follow them but not vice-versa they don't yet know it's me!

Hey @MSAESQ

Your username will appear unless you connect your Spotify account to your Facebook account.

After you connect your Spotify account to your Facebook account, Spotify will change your display name to the name you have on Facebook and it will also show the profile picture you have on Facebook.

You can connect to Facebook from the settings page in the desktop app, or you can do that from the account page:

https://www.spotify.com/account/overview/

After connecting, it could take up to 48 hours for your display name and profile picture to update.
