Can't log in on Onkyo TX-NR525

Solved!

Can't log in on Onkyo TX-NR525

It seems that as a side effect of the latest Android App Update (27/05/2014) I now can not log into Spotify any more on my Onkyo TX-NR525. Do these devices use the android app as well? Is there a firmware update on the AV receiver necessary? So far there is no such update available.

Are there any other reasons for not being able to log in.

I already changed my password on Spotify and used the "log off on all devices" function in spotify, but nothing helped so far.

Thanks.

Best wishes

Kay

The issue is solved.

I did the following:

  1. Changed Password in Spotify
  2. Logged off at all devices
  3. Removed all offline devices in Spotify
  4. Unplugged electricity and network connection from my Onkyo device
  5. Plugged in again
  6. Started device
  7. Entered Spotify at Onkyo device
  8. Added a new spotify user
  9. Typed in the changed password

Except the unplugging/plugging I did all that before without success. Though it seems kind of weird, everything works fine again now.

Those devices shouldn't be effected by the android updates as far as I know. What error message do you get?

I receive the message "Log In Error. Please check your password."

I retyped my password and username approx. 10 times and finally also changed the password on spotify.

As I read in another thread I also disabled UPnP in my router and turned the device off and on again. Still no effect.

Any further tips are appreciated.

I know there where some server side authentication changes that knocked out Spoticast (the 3rd party Spotify Chromecast app), wondering are Onkyo seeing the same issues.

I would suggest you get in touch with the Spotify support team directly using the online contact form and see if they have any more details or help too!

If you get an automated email reply back directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to that email (even if its from no-reply) and one of the customer services agents will get back to you as soon as possible.

Alternatively, if you prefer support via Twitter, please tweet @SpotifyCares.
