Hi,
Have been trying to purchase a gift card to my daughter for two days now without success. As I have entered my credit card details I hit the "Confirm" button and shortly after that I see a page with the message "Error in request"?
I have tried two different credit cards (VISA & Mastercard). I have tried in Safari and Firefox (I'm on Mac OS X). No success 😞
Should it have to be this hard?

same here. What gives, I'm trying to give you money...even went to Target today and they do not have spotify gift cards either, even though it says they do.
Tried to purchase online giftcards today, for corporate holiday gifts. 2 cc's and paypal all rejected. Contacted customer support, no reply. Based in the US - wondering if that is the problem? Planning on spending like $1500 if I can get this resolved today/tomorrow.
welp - just ran it again, and this time it went through via paypal. /shrug.
Welp its broken again. I purchased 2 subscriptions, and paypal is rejecting the 3rd. Visa Cards are being rejected as well. This is seriously frustrating.
Customer support told me that I could only purchase 6 within 24 hours ( which is a bit ridiculous, but whatever )... but it looks like I'm getting capped at 2?

Regarding the 6 payments thing, you're allowed 6 payments per card within 24 hours. This is a safety measure, should some nasty fraudulant actvity happen.

I read your payments document, and it does not address my issue:
I am using paypal - which I used successfully for 3 transactions. As I went to enter the 4th, I am being rejected ( please see image ) .
I will check with my CC if I am ok'd for foreign transactions
I just checked with CHASE - there are no blocks on my cards ( including foreign spending ) . I attempted to purchase on your site while the banker was on the phone, and they are not seeing any hits on my card at all.
Here is the error:
"Incorrect payment details. Please check that you entered the correct card number, CVC and expiry date in MM then YY."
to the best of my knowledge I am entering the information correctly. card number is correct - I have tried entering it differnt ways ( no spaces, spaces, dashes ) , dates can only be entered in one format xx/yy. cvc is correct. I'm really at a loss.
I just tried again using dashes between the numbers.. ( some progress ? )
Now I'm getting:

Firstly, the card needs to be open for e-commerce, so that you can use it for online purchases (Verified by Visa/Mastercard Securecard card) and foreign purchases.
Yes. Furthermore I use it for online transactions on a daily basis.
Secondly, the card has to be issued in the same country as the country set your Spotify profile.
Profile set to US. Cards issued in US, with a US address.
This is interesting - I tried to add my CC to my profile information... when I did so, I got an error stating that I had an incorrect zip code? At no time was I asked to enter my zipcode.
I plugged in my zipcode into the field that popped up, and it let me validate my card.
I successfully PURCHASE an upgrade to my own account. No problems.
Go back to gift card area, try to make a purchase?

I'm like 99% sure that this is not user error at this point.
I am able to purchase from 1 side of your system, but not the gift card side.
I am able to purchase _sometimes_ from the gift card side using paypal, but not all the time.
I can't purchase a Spotify gift card through your webpage with either a Visa or Mastercard (both valid, both OK for online purchases). I'm in the US, buying for a user in the US. Read the whole Payments & Gift Card help pages, and they are no help for this problem. What gives?? Don't you want my money?

I completely agree with everyone's frustrations here. I've tried to purchase a year's subscription for my father, for Father's Day.
I ran through five debit/credit cards with nothing but a failure response on each telling me my bank was having a 'bad day'. One of those cards was an international business card, just to see if it was a US only card issue.
I then spent an hour and half chatting with two different representatives and it still was not resolved.
How much money are you guys losing due to a payment issue that you've known about for over a year now? Just fix it.
