Change username

Spotify issues you with an incomprehensible username that is impossible to remember and to allow people to search for you. Is there any option to change your username, if so can we expect to have that option or atleast choose from a few generic usernames that are easy to remember

Hi @meh666,

It’s currently not possible to change your Spotify username, but you do have some options. You can connect your Spotify account to Facebook to display your Facebook name and profile picture publicly instead of your Spotify username. 

Or, if you really want something different, you could create a new account. 

 

1. You’ll first need to close your current account. 
   Note: The account you close needs to be Free, so be sure to cancel your subscription first. Closing an account loses its playlists, account/playlist followers, and Your Music/Your Library collections. You can contact the staff to get them moved to a new account within 7 days of the closure.
2. Create a new account with your new chosen username.
   Note: The same username can't be used twice, even if the account has already been closed.
