Changing Country Not Resolving Account Issues

Hello Everyone,

I'm having some trouble with my account. Currently, all my spotify apps aren't showing my playlists and saved songs, as I recently moved to another country and the 14-day trial has expired. This I understand.

What I don't understand is that now that I've changed the country that is listed on my account to the one I am currently in, my account has not been restored. The website knows this is the country I am in, because it doesn't give me any other options on the drop-down menu for countries on my account page. Yet all I have access to right now is a blank account with no way of restoring it.

Has anyone had this problem before, or otherwise know what I should be doing to remedy the situation?

I get the same screens on my phone as well

It sounds like you've got a second account with Spotify. Are there any other email addresses you could have used to register with Spotify? It's worth checking those inboxes to see if you have any Spotify emails -- that will mean your extra account is registered with that email.

 

  • If you don't have another email address, note how you log into the Spotify app usually.
  • If you use your Facebook details try entering your Spotify username (if you created one originally).
  • If you use your Spotify username try entering just your email address.

Unfortunately, I don't sign out of spotify all that often, so I don't always remember the login process. Currently I am trying to login with my primary email address, but that only leads to a blank account.

 

I checked a secondary email account I have, which is linked to my facebook account, and that had a bunch of (dutch) emails from spotify. However, I don't use facebook to log into my spotify account, although the two are supposed to be linked, so I can't use the facebook login option, nor the second email to log into my spotify account. I can currently login to my spotify account using the primary email address, but that leaves me with the problem I originally had. 

 

If it helps at all, there seems to be a difference between what happens when I try to login through facebook on my phone and laptop; on my phone it states the issue is that my 14-day trial in a foreign country has expired, but on my laptop it states that the "sign in through facebook" option is an incorrect username and/or password. So I can't be sure whether the issue is because of the change of country or a problem with the login process.
