Changing the username

Why doesn't Spotify let me choose a username when I create my account? Instead, it gives me a random generic username with numbers & digits. I'd like to change it but there's no option for that. Can you guys please help me out? I had to delete my account once regarding this issue & I lost all my playlists & songs.

Hey @Yashwant,

Spotify is always testing new things, so currently, not all users can choose an username and are asked to enter a display name instead.

It's unfortunately not possible to change the username of an existing account.
