ChatGPT app can’t link to Spotify account; this is supposed be available

ChatGPT app can’t link to Spotify account; this is supposed be available; "At the moment, ChatGPT doesn’t have the ability to directly connect or link to Spotify accounts — so I can’t log in, access your playlists, or add songs inside Spotify for you."

Hey @martynusbaum,

Welcome to the Community and thanks for creating this thread in the forum. 

First it's worth mentioning that the integration is currently for users that are ChatGPT Plus & Pro subscribers. If you are one, but are still experiencing this issue, make sure to go over the following:

• Both the Spotify and ChatGPT apps are updated to the newest versions.
• Log out > back in twice in a row for a resync of your account and the Spotify app.
• Disable any VPNs you may be using on your device.
• Test on a different device (if it's possible).

In the meantime, we're here if anything else comes up.

I am also having this issue. I have ChatGPT plus. It recognizes that Spotify is connected but claims it cannot open or do anything in the app.

Hello!
I followed all of these steps and got it to work for a question or two and it went back to telling me that my playlists needed to be turned to public to be seen, even though they all are, or just the generic message again:
"At the moment, ChatGPT doesn’t have the ability to directly connect or link to Spotify accounts — so I can’t log in, access your playlists, or add songs inside Spotify for you."
Any insight would be helpful.

While this is being looked into, can you please confirm that you're ChatGPT Plus/ Pro subscribers?
If yes, we'd also like to know when this issue has first appeared and if the Spotify integration has worked properly for you at any point before.

OpenAI states that it is available for free accounts as well, so the Pro/Plus statement is false.

Hi everyone,

@digilena, @kaydenclark725, sounds like you folks managed to successfully connect your Spotify and ChatGPT accounts. Would you mind sharing with the rest of the thread what worked for you so the other folks can give it a go as well?

Also, it's worth checking if starting your ChatGPT prompts/requests with a Spotify annotation as in "Spotify, create a playlist that..." or "Spotify, play [insert content here]" does the trick.

Should the issue persist, please share the exact steps/prompts you're using so we can investigate further.
