Claiming Artist account

Claiming Artist account

I want to claim my artist account. I get to the step to confirm by logging into my Artist Instagram account, however when I try to log in, I get this: "Insufficient Developer Role: Insufficient developer role".

Have anyone else experience the same or a similar issue? And how did it get resolved?

Sadly, that shows up for everyone.

Start a chat with support on Spotify For Artists, follow their requests (sending links to websites, social media, etc), and they’ll get it handled. I’ve done it twice now and received access within ten-twenty minutes.

I'm going through the same thing right now, seems like a HUGE bug. Spotify really needs to work on this.

the issue is that the instagram part when you trying to add a team does nothing you logging and then it erases all the info we wrote down so we cant link our instagram to prove its us

Same problem for me, it's annoying as **bleep**. Everytime I try to allow the link with my Instagram, the form refreshes afterwards. It makes it unable to submit a new team. Please let someone look into this, because it's just frustrating that I can't have insights in my own music now.

Hey there folks!

We've checked backstage and we can confirm that it's currently not possible to authenticate your Instagram account with your Artist profile. Hopefully we'll see the feature back in the future, but we're not able to give you any timeline for this.

Cheers!

This is not helpful. There is still a problem.

Any additional help on the backend of Spotify to make this work would be appreciated, rather than being directed toward an info page.

So if verifying the account with Instagram is no longer possible, why is it required on Spotify’s end? Is there another way we can make this work?

Hi @LamainMusix

Thanks for getting back to us and letting us know about this.

As authentication is currently not possible we would need to see how things look on your end, you can attach a screenshot with your next reply.

Will be on the lookout for your response.

Hello everybody,
I've just faced the same issue, and the problem can be solved by indicating the instagram url in the website field.
And then you can validate !
Hope this will help you all and have a nice day 🙂

This is not entirely true.

In my case, I had to speak to four representatives via chat.

I was trying to gain access to an instrumental artist page of mine, and was told that 1) the artist name was too generic (the examples they gave were "Sleep" or "Sleep Music), which is far from true, and 2) that the track uploaded did not have lyrics. I repeatedly asked for a reason and was switched to a new representative each time I delved deeper.

Finally, the fourth representative looked at the existing examples I gave (multiple artists with similar names of mine, all of whom had gained access to their account), and allowed me access.

Sometimes perseverance and nagging pays off...

Yh

I've had this same issue for months. Really frustrating and I hope they get it fixed, because I've had my music on spotify for a while now and I can't edit my artist profile at all. I've tried probably 8 times to verify my artist team and contacting them doesn't help at all. You'd think they would want to fix this.

Same thing just happened to me. Would love to figure out how to solve this.

If it helps at all.. I spoke with someone via chat at Spotify and was able to claim my artist profile. Full disclosure: it did take four people, but I was determined and finally found the right person who listened and gave me access.

If Spotify is going to fight legislation that raises royalty rates and look to screw over songwriters at every turn, then we might as well get as much use of their money as we can.

Can you also help me claim mine or direct me to same person who helped.

I would be glad to hear from you.

Thank you.

I know I’m very late but I got around this issue by manually typing my instagram URL in the “artist website” section instead of connecting through the app. I just made sure my email for my IG was the same email I used for Spotify and had my artist name visible

I spoke to the support, and it worked by putting the link to the instagram profile in the Website.

Important detail: The email address you're using for the artist access needs to be visible on the IG page as well

Spotify for artists!!

Amazing work Spotify! Its June and you still haven't solved this issue! But awesome that you have decided to charge more for you services. Like always, you are an inmense help to us artists.🙄

This was happening to me but what you have to do is log into Spotify for artist with a different account and it will give you instant access.

Insufficient developer role: Insufficient developer role appears whenever logging into spotify for artists with intagram account.
