Do I have to create a Spotify account before I can upload music to it?

Hi everyone, hoping I can get some help with the right steps for a music thing. Here's where I'm at with this:
1-I have some music I'd like to post to Spotify. These songs are just me, and I have no intentions of selling them, etc, I just want to have a place where I can put them for my friends to hear.
2-Per some advice, I went to Tunecore and created an account that would get me on Spotify as well as various other platforms.
3-The first song I uploaded meets all the necessary requirements, and I successfully sent it out to all the platforms.
My question is, what are the next steps? I created a free account on Spotify with the name of the project, but I don't think that's what I need or should be using. Help?!?!?

Your user profile doesn't have anything to do with your artist page, which is automatically generated by Spotify when a distributor delivers your music to them. 🙂

There aren't really any next steps that are required. You could request access to Spotify for Artists so that you can customize your artist page: https://artists.spotify.com/help/article/getting-access-to-spotify-for-artists.
