Duo plan unable to add someone

Duo plan unable to add someone

I have joined the Duo plan but unable to add my partner. I originally joined Spotify in Ireland which is my billing address. I have now moved to Belgium living with my boyfriend. I have tried to add him but when I verify the address and invite him , he gets an error message to say we need to be at the same address. We then updated the billing address to our current address and refreshed & sent invite again but it still is not working. We then tried to change the country in my profile to Belgium but we are unable to do this, we cannot select anything. Can you advise do we have to wait until the next payment is made from the new billing address to allow us to update the country and activate the Duo plan?

Welcome to the Community!

 

First of all for this to work, you'd need to change the country of your Spotify account to Belgium. You can read how to do that here. You'd need to update your payment details, with a payment method issued in your new country (Belgium). 

 

After that you should be able to send an invitation to your partner, so they can join your Duo plan. You won't be able to join a Duo if the countries on your accounts are different.

 

The country set on your accounts must match the country which issued your payment method and the country you're currently living in.

Hi Alex, thank you for replying but unfortunately this not working for me.  It will not let me change the country of my spotify account to Belgium?  When I go into my account and click on profile - then edit profile - it will not let me change it from Ireland to Belgium? Can you please advise how I do this?  I have already changed my payment details to my Belgium address but unable to update my profile to Belgium?  I have followed your link you advised above but this is still not working.

If you've already updated your payment method to one that's been issued in Belgium, you need to wait until your next billing date as the changes will only take effect on that date.
