Email/Existing student account issues

I used to have Spotify Premium using a student discount however i cancelled it. i am still a student and would like to use my student discount again however when i try to upgrade to premium it keeps telling me that my student account is in use with spotify even though its not anymore... also i cant change my email address to my new email address as its saying that too is already in use even though it clearly isnt as its my email.
