Error 117 on new Network | Firewall may be blocking Spotify

Error 117 on new Network | Firewall may be blocking Spotify

I recently moved my computer to my home office (new network).

The internet is working fine for other programs, but Spotify 'could not connect to the internet'. I can still log in and use Spotify through the browser, and I can run Spotify via my other Personal computer on the same network.

After reading through a bunch of Community posts, I decided to do a remove/re-install.

Now that my Spotify is re-installed, I tried to "Log in with Facebook" as normal, but I received a bunch of different errors - all relating to "A firewall may be blocking Spotify".  The most recent error being 117.

Trouble-shooting I have already done:

- Completed all updates on my computer, and restarted.

- Uninstalled Spotify completely, and re-installed.

- Turned OFF the standard Windows Firewall, as well as the Virus protection

- Changed the Proxy settings to "No Proxy".  I have no idea how to find the HTTP proxy settings to add this manually as I have seen in other suggested fixes??

- Turned ON the Firewall and Virus protection, and added Spotify to the "allowed apps" list for both Private and Public networks.

None of the above actions have worked, and I am still getting a range of errors from 117 to 20?23?28? - something like those, all relating to the Firewall EVEN WHEN IT IS TURNED OFF.

I have seen in the Spotify Troubleshooting guide, that I may need to ensure my router allows Spotify in/out traffic.  I have no idea how to do that and cannot seem to find further information on how I am supposed to do that.

EDIT:

- I have now figured out how to access the Firewall on my router, and have gone through the process of adding Spotify to it via the instructions on portforward.com.  No luck.

- I have also found the Proxy settings in my router settings to try putting in the HTTP proxy manually, and I get error 4: no internet connection detected. (so I changed this back to auto detect.)

- Turned off the Firewall on my router, and the Firewall on my PC and got error 30: "A Firewall may be blocking Spotify".

- I then turned off the Proxy setting in Spotify for sh!ts & gigs and got Error 7: "Service is temporarily unavailable."

This is getting utterly ridiculous.

I never received a response from anyone.

I had to completely hard reset my router and re-setup my network before it worked for me.
